Travel Insurance Claims
Before you make a claim we suggest that you read our the Commonly Asked Claims Questions below and the Policy Wording ... a little preparation will go a long way to helping us process your claim in the most efficient way.
How to make a claim
All claims must be submitted within 60 days of the incident giving rise to the claim.
- Step 1: Download a claim form
Download a claim form.
- Step 2: Get your documentation together
To settle any claim, you need to send us certain documentation. We strongly suggest that when you do this you take photocopies so that if items get lost in the mail, we can avoid further settlement delays.
Depending on the type of claim this might be:
1. Any reports or reference numbers obtained from the police, hospitals or the responsible authority.
2. Proof of purchase for all lost, stolen or damaged items.
3. English translations of all documents. In the case of cancellation, curtailment and medical claims, it is also recommended that you contact the Claims Service who will advise you of any other additional supporting documentation required. Email: info@csal.co.uk or Phone: +44 (0) 845 643 2629.

Common Claims Questions
How do I get Emergency Assistance overseas?
Call Emergency Medical Assistance Service on +44 (0)845 643 2628 immediately.
What can I claim for?
World Nomads Annual Multi-trip insurance has different cover options and what level you choose (Bronze, Silver, Gold) will affect what you can claim for. Typically, a policy covers medical and repatriation expenses and additional hospital expenses, emergency dental treatment, personal liability and cancellation and curtailment costs (the last two are optional under the Bronze policy and you must pay the additional premium to include this cover). You should refer to the Policy Wording for the full description of benefits and exclusions.
How long will it take to settle a claim?
Most claims take between 1 - 2 months to settle, but others can take longer. This often depends on how quickly you can get the required documents to us.
What documents will I need?
After you have submitted your claim, you still have to send us certain documents for us to be able to assess and settle your claim. For medical claims you will usually need original medical accounts and receipts. For loss of personal belongings claims you will usually need a police report and proof of ownership for the items. For more information, please call the Claims Service on +44 (0) 845 643 2629.
Does my insurance cover medical costs upfront or do I have to pay and claim later?
In an emergency situation where hospitalisation and/or medical evacuation is required, the insurer covers these costs upfront (subject to the matter complying with the policy wording, of course). You would need to contact Emergency Medical Assistance Service on +44 (0) 845 643 2628 immediately to notify them of the situation.
If it is not an emergency and the costs are not excessive then you would pay upfront and make a claim online once all treatment is complete.
I don't have receipts for my personal items. Can I still make a claim?
Yes. Please be aware though that when we receive a personal belongings claim, you will still be asked to provide proof of ownership for the lost or stolen items. We understand that you might not be able to produce such receipts for each and every item, but you still have to 'tip the balance' and should be able to provide evidence of ownership where you could be reasonably expected to have such evidence. Typically, we accept photographic evidence, warranty cards, manuals, receipts, bank or credit card statements as proof of ownership. In the end, common sense prevails and you should ask yourself, "Does this conclusively prove that I owned this item?"
